Overview

Startup description

My product is a free weekly newsletter that aggregates all the latest acquisition opportunities (up to $100k) each week. It is monetized via sponsorships. And there's a lot more that could be done to easily grow both the email list and revenue.

I started my newsletter while searching for a micro-SaaS to purchase. There were too many marketplaces to look at each week — I wanted a digest of all the opportunities in one place. So that's what I created. Turns out, other people wanted the same thing.

I'm selling it because I don't have time to do it justice. This newsletter has legs, but I haven't been able to put in the time.

Key highlights:

Subscribers: 3,030

Open rate: $37.68%

Hours per week: 20 minutes with VA. ~6 hours without VA

Clicks on sponsorships: Varies depending on the type of sponsor. Between 5 and 50 clicks per link. 5 would be for a random SaaS product. 50 would be for a specific acquisition opportunity (when acquisition marketplaces sponsor)

TTM revenue: $2,250 (Note: It was only monetized 10 months ago, and I didn't do any outbound sales)

TTM profit: -$2,430 (negative due to the cost of my VA, which is optional — $100 per issue)

The email list is made up of founders with money in hand — doesn't get much better than that (for you or your sponsors)

Team

Just me and my VA. She aggregates everything. I just edit and publish.

Tech Stack

Substack and Stripe.

Marketing and growth

In the first few months, I posted on Reddit. That got me my first subscribers. Then, I built a recommendation engine (via Substack's recommendation feature). Since then, growth has been completely on autopilot.

Anyone could easily grow this by posting on Reddit and social media, running ads, etc.

Startup assets

Email list of 3,030 subscribers

Working growth engine via recommendations (grow with zero effort)

Brand

Branding assets

Aggregation process

Contact info for partners

Contact info for leads and previous sponsors

Handoff with a list of growth opportunities

30-day email support

Risks

The only risk is that you won't find sponsors. But it shouldn't be hard if you put in a little time — I got sponsors with zero outbound.

This is a proven model in a growing niche. The production process is streamlined. You can keep it going as is and pay it off within a few years. Or put in the time to grow both the list and revenue.

Summary

Buy my newsletter if you enjoy the ETA (entrepreneurship through acquisition) space, you want to grow a list of buyers, and you want to create a name for yourself in the micro-SaaS world.

I've had a lot of fun, learned a ton, and met some amazing people (one of whom became a partner in my holding company), so the benefits go way beyond how well you can monetize it. But I firmly believe the current revenue stream can be easily scaled, the email list can be easily grown, and the brand can be expanded to encompass multiple revenue streams.

I can walk you through all of my ideas. I just haven't been able to put in the time to execute those ideas myself.

✅ $2,250 in Annual Revenue✅ 3,030 subscribers✅ Business model: Sponsorship✅ Built with Stripe, Substack

Asking Price Reasoning

Seems like a standard multiple. Tested the waters at this price prior to listing and had a lot of interest.

Reason for Selling

Focus is elsewhere so I haven't been able to put enough time into it.

Content marketing, social media marketing, ads.

30 days free support from seller

Competitors

N/A — I don't know of any other aggregators of micro-SaaS acquisition opportunities. The only competitors would be the acquisition marketplaces themselves, but they're actually our best sponsors.

Tech Stack

Stripe, Substack.
