Overview

Startup description

My startup is a data intelligence platform built to solve the manual "deal-finding" struggle for Canadian resellers. I run a 3PL warehouse and saw my clients spending hours scrubbing websites or hiring VAs to find profitable inventory. I built this to automate that process. We monitor 19+ major Canadian retailers with a database of hundreds of millions of price history data points, allowing users to instantly spot mistake prices and profitable gaps. Launched in June 2025, it hit immediate product-market fit and has grown to $1,100 CAD MRR entirely through word-of-mouth.

Key highlights

Annual Revenue: $13,200 CAD

Annual Profit: ~$8,400 CAD

Churn Rate: Extremely low (users stay because the tool pays for itself)

LTV: $240+ per user

CAC: $0 (All organic/word-of-mouth growth)

Business Margin: ~65%

Unique Metric: Hundreds of millions of historical price data points across 19+ major Canadian retailers.

Team

The startup is currently run by the founder. As a 3PL business owner with a passion for development, I handle both the high-level strategy and the technical maintenance. The system is highly automated, requiring only 0–2 hours of work per week to maintain existing scrapers and operations.

Tech Stack

Backend: Node.js and Python (optimized for high-frequency, efficient scraping).

Frontend: React (clean dashboard for user filtering and search).

Data: Custom-built database architecture for tracking massive amounts of historical price points.

Marketing and growth

To date, growth has been 100% organic through my 3PL network and reseller communities. I briefly tested Google Ads for one week, but otherwise, there has been no active SEO, social media presence, or outreach. The result is a stable base of paying subscribers who joined purely through word-of-mouth recommendations.

The Growth Opportunity

The real value of the platform isn't just the current $1.1k MRR—it’s the fact that this revenue was built with zero active marketing. We have a massive technical moat (hundreds of millions of data points) and a wide-open market. Here is the low-hanging fruit for a new owner:

Own the Canadian Vacuum: Our only major competitor is currently inactive and unmaintained. By simply showing up on social media (X/Twitter is huge for resellers) and running basic SEO for "Canadian Amazon Reseller Tools," you could realistically own the entire niche.

Re-Open the B2B API: I previously had an exclusive API contract with a major Discord. That exclusive contract has expired, and I’ve had multiple inquiries in the beginning that I never followed up with from other groups wanting to pay for our data stream.

The "One Deal" Pitch: It is incredibly easy to sell this tool. You just have to show a prospect one "mistake price" deal or a profitable flip they missed. Once they see the tool pays for itself with a single purchase, they become a subscriber for life.

Vertical Expansion: The scraping logic is already built. You could easily point these scrapers at US retailers or new categories (like electronics or luxury goods) to 10x the target audience with minimal dev work.

Revenue and profit

The business generates a consistent $1,100 CAD MRR ($13.2k ARR). Operating expenses are roughly $400/month, primarily for hosting and scraping costs. The platform is highly profitable due to the efficient infrastructure I built. There is significant untapped revenue potential in the Enterprise API plan, which serves a Discord reseller under an exclusive contract (until Dec 2025).

Return on investment

A buyer can achieve a fast payback period by activating the marketing side. Since the only major competitor is currently inactive, a simple outreach campaign to Canadian reselling communities or Discord groups would likely double the MRR quickly. Additionally, reopening the API for Enterprise licensing offers immediate high-ticket revenue.

Startup assets

Codebase: Full proprietary scraping architecture and frontend/backend code, plus management tools.

Database: Hundreds of millions of historical price points and product data.

Domain & Brand: Primary domain and all branding assets.

Socials/Email: All associated social media accounts and the customer email list.

Support: 30 days of 1-on-1 technical training and handoff support.

Risks

The primary risk is retailer website updates that can break scrapers. However, the system is modular and easy to adjust. While I am the primary dev, the logic is straightforward enough that a part-time dev-on-call or an owner with basic technical skills can maintain it.

✅ $8,700 in ARR

✅ 125 customers

✅ Business model: Freemium

✅ Built with Express.js, PostgreSQL, React

Asking Price Reasoning
The asking price reflects the current untapped opportunity as all revenue is only from word of mouth from the initial launch, and the subscription is a very easy sell with high retention, as seen by the MRR sustaining itself all year.
Reason for Selling
No time to grow it, it's my secondary business. I operate a 3PL fulltime.
Growth Opportunity
Every dollar of revenue is 100% word-of-mouth, offering a massive opportunity to scale by simply showing resellers the "mistake prices" they're missing via social media and re-opening the now-exclusive-free Enterprise API to inquiring Discord groups.
