Overview

Startup Description

My product is a purpose-built offline-first legal practice management platform that gives solo practitioners and small law firms full control over client data — with zero cloud dependency and zero recurring fees.

Unlike cloud-based legal CRMs that lock firms into $70–150/month per-seat subscriptions and store sensitive client data on third-party servers, mine was designed from the ground up to run entirely on the lawyer's own Windows machine, with every core practice-management tool built into a single connected desktop app.

Key Features

Built-In eSignature — Sign, send, and collect signatures directly on case documents inside the app — no third-party signing tool, no extra subscription.

Matter & Client Management — Create matters, bulk-import clients, and organize every document, note, and event under one case file.

Invoicing & Transaction Tracking — Generate client invoices and track every payment, expense, and refund tied directly to a matter — no separate accounting software.

Time Tracking — Automatically logs billable time across activities, tasks, and every page in the app, tied to the correct matter and rate.

Court Calendar & Reminders — Schedule hearings and deadlines with live on-screen reminders and automatic same-day conflict detection.

Document Version Control — Upload, revise, and restore prior versions of any case document, with large-file support and no size headaches.

One-Click Backup & Export — Export or import the full case database in seconds — data stays portable and fully owned by the firm.

Local AES-256 Encryption — Every file, invoice, and signature is encrypted at rest via SQLCipher, directly on the user's PC.

Business Model

One-time license, no recurring revenue dependency for the buyer to manage:

Solo License — $49 one-time — Full feature set unlocked, installed on one Windows PC, lifetime use, no subscription.

Firm Plan — Custom pricing (Contact Us) — Multi-tenant firm workspace, custom intake forms, white-label branding, on-premise local AI (document summarization + drafting), role-based permissions (partner/associate/paralegal), API integrations, priority onboarding.

Why This Is an Acquisition Opportunity

Legal practice management is a category where most tools force firms into recurring cloud subscriptions and give up control of privileged client data to third-party servers — a real compliance concern for attorney-client privilege. This platform replaces the typical $70–150/month cloud CRM with a single one-time payment, while still covering the full workflow: intake, billing, signatures, documents, and calendaring, in one local, encrypted system. The Firm-tier plan (multi-tenant, local AI, white-label) creates a clear upgrade path from solo lawyers to firms, and an online multi-tenant architecture (Electron + Clerk auth + per-firm Supabase projects) is already scoped and in development — giving a buyer a ready-made expansion path from single-seat desktop tool to multi-user SaaS.

Tech Stack

Electron + React (desktop app)

better-sqlite3-multiple-ciphers (SQLCipher — encrypted local database)

pdf-lib (PDF generation/signing)

sharp (image processing for signature compositing)

Planned online expansion: Clerk (auth) + Supabase (per-firm data isolation).

Business Model
Two-tier one-time/custom pricing model, not a subscription: Solo License — $49 one-time payment. Full feature and Firm Plan — Custom pricing (contact-based).
Target Audience
Solo practitioners and small law firms (typically 1–10 attorneys) who want full ownership of client data and are either priced out of, or actively avoiding, cloud-based legal CRMs like Clio or MyCase.
Asking Price Reasoning
Time, consumed for building this project also the revenue it has genarted.
Reason for Selling
I am a full time solo developer working with my freelance clients and because of that I am unable to give enough time for this project to market and grow.
Growth Opportunity
From a single-seat offline tool to a multi-user SaaS product without sacrificing the local-data/no-cloud-dependency. Beyond that, the Firm Plan's local-AI features are on-premise which opens a segment underserved by mainstream legal SaaS.
