Overview

My app is a native iOS app: you take a photo of a meal and get calories and macros. It has been live on the App Store since May 18, 2026. The app is finished, with onboarding, a paywall and subscriptions set up.

Key highlights:

Revenue (RevenueCat): June 2026 $140, July $20, August $0

Running costs about $5/month

Organic traffic only, paid ads were never run

App Store Connect, period on the screenshot: 6.82k impressions, 247 product page views, 153 first-time downloads

Team

Built and maintained by me. Day-to-day upkeep is minimal.

Tech Stack

Swift (native iOS), RevenueCat for subscriptions, backend on VULT, food recognition through Google API.

Marketing and growth

No marketing so far. All installs came organically from the App Store, mostly right after launch, and revenue dropped once that initial traffic faded.

Revenue and profit

Revenue: June $140, July $20, August $0. I'd rather say it plainly: right now, the app is not making money, and costs are about $5/month.

Return on investment

There is no payback from current revenue. The value is a finished product in a strong subscription niche (calorie tracking) that is ready for paid traffic, so a buyer who runs ads or does ASO can start from a working funnel instead of building one.

Startup assets

The iOS app, transferred to your App Store account

Full Swift source code

RevenueCat project

Backend

Risks

Without marketing the app earns close to nothing. Calorie counters are a crowded category, so you need a traffic plan. Food recognition depends on a third-party API.

Summary

A ready, working calorie counter app at a low price. Good for someone who knows paid UA or ASO and wants to skip months of development. Post-sale support is negotiable.

✅ $160 TTM revenue

✅ 5 customers

✅ Business model: SaaS

✅ Built with Swift, RevenueCat
