Overview
<p><b>Startup description:</b></p><p>My platform is an AI-powered animated character generator. Users describe a character or upload a photo, and the platform generates animated mascots with transparent backgrounds. Output formats include Lottie, WebP, and MP4. Built it as a side project to serve the growing demand for animated brand mascots, game assets, and social media content. The animation pipeline runs on GCP with a Node.js/Python backend.</p><p><b>Key highlights:</b></p><ul>
<li>Annual revenue: ~$2,000 (ARR based on current MRR of $167)</li>
<li>Annual profit: ~$1,500 (low infrastructure costs, roughly $40-50/month on GCP)</li>
<li>Churn rate: Low sample size, but current 8 subscribers have stayed active</li>
<li>LTV: Early stage, estimated $100-150 per subscriber based on current retention</li>
<li>CAC: $0 - all subscribers acquired organically, no paid ads</li>
<li>Business margin: ~75% (main costs are GCP compute and AI API calls)</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Team</b></p><p>Solo founder. I built and maintain everything: the AI animation pipeline, the frontend, payments, and customer support. No employees, no contractors. Full handover with documentation included.</p><p><b>Tech stack:</b></p><ul>
<li>Frontend: Tailwind CSS. </li>
<li>Backend: Node.js + Python on Google Cloud Platform. </li>
<li>Payments: Stripe. </li>
<li>AI pipeline: image generation and animation processing via API integrations. </li>
<li>Infrastructure: GCP Cloud Run.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Marketing and growth:</b></p><p>Organic only. Product Hunt presence, Twitter/X posts under #buildinpublic, and word of mouth. No paid acquisition. LottieFiles (the biggest player in the Lottie ecosystem) follows the project on X. Growth has been slow because I haven't invested time in marketing. The product converts users who find it, but it needs active distribution.</p><p><b>Revenue and profit:</b></p><ul>
<li>MRR: $167 (Stripe-verified on TrustMRR). </li>
<li>All-time revenue: $291. </li>
<li>8 active subscriptions. </li>
<li>Monthly costs around $40-50 (GCP hosting + API calls). </li>
<li>Profitable from day one at this scale.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Return on investment:</b></p><p>At $5,000 asking price and $167 MRR, payback period is roughly 2.5 years at current revenue with zero growth. A buyer who invests in SEO, social media content, or partnerships with design/animation communities could realistically 3-5x the MRR within 6 months. The niche has no direct competitor doing AI-to-Lottie animation.</p><p><b>Startup assets:</b></p><ul>
<li>The domain</li>
<li>Full codebase (Node.js + Python + frontend)</li>
<li>AI animation pipeline</li>
<li>8 active Stripe subscriptions</li>
<li>100+ registered users</li>
<li>Stripe account (transferable)</li>
<li>GCP project and infrastructure</li>
<li>All documentation and handover support.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Risks:</b></p><p>The main risk is churn if the product isn't actively maintained and improved. The animation output is currently frame-based (not vector/IK-based), which limits use cases for buyers who need fully editable Lottie files. Mitigation: focus on the WebP/MP4 use case (social media, game assets) where frame-based animation is perfectly fine, and explore vector-based animation as a future upgrade.</p><p><b>Summary:</b></p><p>My platform occupies a unique niche at the intersection of AI and animation. There is no direct competitor generating animated characters from text prompts with Lottie/WebP export. The product works, has paying users, and is profitable. It needs a buyer with the time and distribution to grow it. Ideal for a solo dev or small team that wants to own the AI mascot generation space.</p><p>✅ $250 in ARR</p><p>✅ 8 customers</p><p>✅ Business model: SaaS</p><p>✅ Built with Node.js, Google Cloud Storage, TailwindCSS</p>

Annual Revenue

Number of Customers
Expenses
30$ a month infra + API.
Business Model
Freemium with token-based usage. Free tier gives 30 tokens (~1 animation) to try the product. Two paid plans: Creator at $19/month (300 tokens, ~10 character designs or ~14 animations) and Studio at $49/month (1,000 tokens, ~33 designs or ~47 animations).
Target Audience
Indie game developers, brand designers, content creators, and small studios who need animated mascots or characters but can't afford a motion designer. Secondary audience: developers building apps/websites who want Lottie animations without learning.
Asking Price Reasoning
The price reflects the tech asset value, not just revenue. The AI animation pipeline (text/image to animated character with Lottie/WebP/MP4 export) would cost $30-50K+ to rebuild from scratch. There is no direct competitor, option for hobby users.
Reason for Selling
I'm a technical founder with another venture that requires my full attention. The platform is a working product with paying users, but it needs dedicated time for marketing and growth that I can't provide right now. I'd rather see it grow under a new owner.
Growth Opportunity
The AI animation space is early and growing fast. No direct competitor generates animated characters from text prompts with Lottie export. The Lottie ecosystem (LottieFiles, Rive) is expanding across web and mobile. Current growth is purely organic.

Competitors
No direct competitor does AI text-to-animated-character with Lottie export. Adjacent players: LottieFiles (marketplace for hand-made Lottie animations, not AI-generated), Rive (animation design tool, manual not AI), Krikey.ai.
Tech Stack
Node.js, Google Cloud Storage, TailwindCSS, Python, Google Cloud Platform.
