<p><b>Startup description</b></p><p>My platform is a distraction-free book reader that lets you upload PDFs, EPUBs, or DOC files.</p><p>What's different is the ability to directly converse about specific lines or paragraphs using AI.</p><p>Whenever you hit a confusing part or something that demands deeper insight, instead of getting stuck or giving up, you can clarify &amp; explore related ideas right there.</p><p>I started building it in March 2025 and launched it in April 2025.</p><p><b>Key highlights:<b></b></b></p><ul><li>Annual revenue - $300</li><li>Annual profit - $285</li><li>Business margin - 90% (10% is just server cost)</li></ul><p><b>Team</b></p><p>I am the solo founder behind the product.</p><p><b>Tech Stack</b></p><p>Built using React.js, Node (backend hosted on AWS serverless), and Firebase for authentication and database.</p><p><b>Marketing and growth</b></p><p>I mainly launched it on my personal X profile, and users have purchased it from there. I didn't have time to actively market the product.</p><p><b>Return on investment</b></p><p>The product has high potential to grow with a focus on SEO, influencer marketing, and ads.</p><p>So the payback period is pretty quick in a matter of 5 months if the organic channels like SEO and social media are used, which wouldn't require costs upfront.</p><p><b>Startup assets<b></b></b></p><ul><li>Full source code repositories of the frontend and backend</li><li>Fully functional deployment on AWS with no/minimal maintenance</li><li>Handover of the Polar account, AWS, and Firebase account</li></ul><p><b>Risks</b></p><p>Since I've currently only sold lifetime licenses, the costs to run this product are very low, considering that there are also AWS credits applied (even then, the production costs are low as I have optimized it to run with 0 maintenance).</p><p>Also, users use their own OpenAI API key to use the product.</p><p>Only way it can go wrong is if AWS deployment is stopped.</p><p><b>Summary</b></p><p>This product is fully functional and requires very little maintenance. In fact, I haven't touched the code or AWS deployment since launch, but it has still generated sales from my passive marketing on X/Twitter/Linkedin.</p><p>I couldn't find the time to grow it as I am focused on 2 other SaaS of mine. If not for it, I would have easily grown it with the low-hanging marketing channels like SEO, influencer partnerships, and affiliate marketing.</p><p>The product inherently has very low costs, and these costs don't scale as the product grows because users bring their own API key to use LLMs like Claude, OpenAI, etc.</p></br>✅ $300 in Annual revenue✅ 5 customers✅ Business model: One-time payments✅ Built with Node.js, AWS, React
