Overview

Startup description

My product is a collaborative football browser game where players form clubs, compete against rival clubs, and participate in recurring football-style seasons. The game combines real-time gameplay with asynchronous mechanics, allowing players to stay engaged throughout the day without requiring constant online presence.

I launched the game in Spring 2025 after seeing an opportunity for a community-focused football game where teamwork and long-term progression matter more than individual play. Since launch, the project has grown organically into a profitable business with a loyal player base and recurring revenue, almost entirely through word-of-mouth.

Unlike many browser games, the community is the core asset. Players stay because of the friendships they've built, their loyalty to their clubs, and the competitive nature of each season. The game is fully browser-based and mobile-friendly, making it easy for players to access without installing an app.

Key highlights

Annual Revenue: Approximately USD 35,000

Annual Profit: Approximately USD 30,000–33,000 (hosting and payment processing are the primary expenses)

Monthly Active Users (MAU): ~2,000-4,000 (Varies)

Daily Active Users (DAU): 400–700

Paying Customers: 100-200

Primary Markets: Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany and Turkey

Customer Acquisition: Almost entirely organic (word-of-mouth and player invitations)

Business Model: Sale of in-game currency

Browser-based and mobile-friendly

Single-owner operation

Note: As this is a gaming business rather than a SaaS product, traditional metrics such as CAC, LTV and churn have not been formally tracked.

Team

The project is currently operated entirely by me.

Responsibilities include:

Feature development

Backend development

Customer support

Community management

Game balancing

Infrastructure management

Bug fixing

Seasonal content

During active development, I dedicated significant time to building new features and expanding the game. Routine operation requires considerably less effort than the development phase.

The community is mature enough that moderators could easily be appointed from existing players if desired.

Tech Stack

Backend

PHP

Laravel

Frontend

Laravel Livewire

jQuery

Database

MySQL

Hosting

Contabo VPS

The codebase is well structured and should be straightforward for any Laravel developer to maintain or extend.

Marketing and growth

Growth has been almost entirely organic.

Current acquisition channels:

Word-of-mouth

Player invitations

Existing community referrals

Very little effort has been invested in:

SEO (very little effort)

Paid advertising (close to none)

Social media marketing (zero effort)

Influencer partnerships (zero effot)

Content marketing (close to zero)

This leaves significant room for growth for a buyer interested in scaling the project.

Potential growth opportunities include:

SEO

Google Ads and Meta Ads

Football community partnerships

Localization into additional languages

Mobile applications

Expanded monetization features

Community ambassadors and moderators

Revenue and profit

The business generates revenue through purchases of in-game currency.

Financial characteristics:

Approximately USD 35,000 annual revenue

Strong profit margins due to low infrastructure costs

Predictable recurring purchases from an engaged player base

No dependence on paid user acquisition

Recent revenue has softened because I have not been able to dedicate as much time to feature development and community activities due to family commitments and other projects. I believe an owner who can consistently invest time into the game has a clear opportunity to accelerate growth again.

Return on investment

The business is already profitable and operational.

Depending on the acquisition price and the buyer's strategy, a significant portion of the investment could be recovered through the existing cash flow alone.

There are multiple opportunities to increase revenue beyond its current level, particularly through marketing initiatives that have not yet been explored and by resuming regular feature development.

Startup assets

The sale includes everything required to continue operating the business:

Domain name

Complete source code

Production database

Artwork and game assets

Full intellectual property

Deployment assistance

Operational documentation

Complete handover

Additional assets:

Approximately 3,000-4,000 monthly active players, it varies based on player fatigue, competitions, releases.

Between 100 and 200 paying customers. At least 100 recurring. Customers already divided into spending categories.

Existing player community

Production infrastructure configuration

I will also provide full transition support for approximately one complete game season (around 30 days), including deployment, operational guidance, and answering day-to-day questions. Continued support or a maintenance agreement can be discussed if desired.

Risks

Like any multiplayer game, player engagement depends on continued attention and regular updates.

The business is currently founder-operated, so a new owner should expect to spend time understanding the game mechanics and community.

Growth has been driven primarily by organic referrals rather than active marketing. While this limits current acquisition, it also represents an opportunity for expansion.

The community values transparency and communication, so maintaining regular interaction with players is recommended.

Summary

My product is a profitable, community-driven football browser game with proven monetization, loyal players, and significant growth potential.

The business has reached profitability almost entirely through organic growth, with minimal marketing investment and no dependence on paid acquisition. It includes the complete technology stack, intellectual property, artwork, player database, and everything required to continue operating the game from day one.

For a buyer looking to acquire an established online gaming business rather than build one from scratch, my game offers an opportunity to take over an existing product with active users, recurring revenue, and multiple untapped avenues for future growth.

✅ $34,366 TTM revenue

✅ 20 customers

✅ Business model: IAP

✅ Built with JavaScript, PHP, Laravel

From a point of view it can be any football browser game, but from another point of view, none, because all football managers are single player. In my game, user manage the team collectively by being the players themselves.
