Overview

My app teaches a language by having you read in it. You read a graded story or your own PDF, tap any word for a contextual explanation, the word enters a spaced repetition system, and the app reads the text aloud in a neural voice that runs on the device. It is a reader, a vocabulary memory and a listening tool in one loop: read, understand in context, remember, listen.

Two properties are for sale together:

The iOS app, live since 21 July 2026, currently on version 1.2.1 with 1.3.0 in TestFlight. Twelve target languages, A1 to C2, with the interface and the App Store listing localized into 13 storefronts. Freemium with a subscription through StoreKit 2 and RevenueCat.

A Next.js site that is simultaneously the marketing site, a set of free web tools (reader, CEFR level test, comprehension tests, grammar worksheets, graded word lists, graded reader PDFs), a 221-post blog in six languages, and the premium AI backend the app calls.

The honest one-line summary: this is an asset-rich, revenue-poor property with a search channel that has started compounding. The build is finished and shipping, the content library is large and unusual, the analytics are instrumented to a level most solo apps never reach, and the monetization is unproven. A buyer is not buying cash flow. A buyer is buying roughly 14 months of equivalent build work, a content library that would cost five figures to commission, and an organic channel that produced 59% of its entire quarter's clicks in the last seven days.

Team

One person, full stack. Founder, iOS engineer, web engineer, content director, designer and marketer are the same individual.

What this means for a buyer, stated plainly. There is no team to retain, which removes payroll but also means the knowledge lives in documentation rather than in people. The documentation is unusually complete: 21 numbered planning documents in the app repo, 19 in the web repo, a daily metrics report with its own reasoning notes, and release runbooks for each shipped version. A technical buyer can onboard from the repos. A non-technical buyer will need to hire.

Marketing and growth

Total paid marketing spend to date: $0. Everything below is organic.

What worked: programmatic SEO on bottom-of-funnel queries.

Startup assets

iOS app, ~26,800 lines of Swift, 131 files, full git history from 5 June 2026.

Web app, ~25,600 lines of TypeScript, 136 files, 276 static pages, deployed on Vercel.

Three production API endpoints, deployed and documented (/v1/explain, /v1/quiz, /v1/plan).

Metrics daily reporting tool and dashboard, connected to live GA4 and RevenueCat.

Content-studio social video and carousel generator, 12 languages, free TTS.

App Store metadata for 13 locales plus a screenshot capture and framing pipeline.
