Overview

My mobile app is a social dining and matching platform that helps people make meaningful connections through shared dining experiences. Founded in 2023, the project began as a community-driven platform and evolved into an automated, paid matching model designed to make meeting new people easier and more scalable. Today, it operates across Italy and Australia, with a focus on connecting people offline through real-life experiences.

Key highlights:

Annual revenue: Approximately A$1,200 based on current revenue of ~A$100/month

Annual profit: Not formally established

Churn rate: Not yet measured reliably

LTV: some customers attend 2/3 events

CAC: Not formally measured as we run organically only

Business margin: Low operating costs; exact margin not yet established

Geographic presence: Operating across 6 cities in Italy and Australia. Expandible

User base: Approximately 500 users on one app and 350 on the main app

Business model: Paid social dining and matching

Automation: Matching and event invitation processes run automatically, reducing manual operational work

Technology stack: Vite, JavaScript, Supabase, Flutter and Firebase

Growth opportunity: Expand city-level user acquisition, improve repeat participation, and scale the paid matching model.

Team

It was built by a team of three co-founders covering software development, business operations, and marketing. The team has developed the platform, manages its day-to-day operations, and drives user acquisition and growth across Italy and Australia.

Marketing and growth

The app grew through organic social media marketing, direct outreach, and community building across Italy and Australia. We developed and tested a paid social dining model, evolving from a community-led approach into an automated matching platform designed to operate with minimal manual intervention.

The model has been deployed across six cities, with approximately 800 users and early evidence of willingness to pay in two countries. Our experience has helped us identify the key requirements for successful expansion, including local user acquisition, sufficient user density, repeat participation, and efficient event matching.

The platform is designed to be replicated city by city. With the right marketing budget, localized acquisition strategy, and operational playbook, a new owner could expand into additional cities without needing to rebuild the core technology or develop the business model from scratch.

Revenue and profit

It is an early-stage, bootstrapped business with a validated paid social dining model operating across Italy and Australia.

MRR: Approximately A$100

ARR: Approximately A$1,200 at the current revenue run rate

Profit: Not formally established

CAC: Not yet measured consistently; growth has primarily relied on organic social media and direct outreach

LTV and retention: Not yet established through reliable cohort data

Churn: Not yet measured consistently

Business model: Paid matching and social dining experiences

The platform has approximately 800 users across six cities. Payments in two countries provide early evidence of willingness to pay, while the automated matching and invitation system offers potential to expand into additional cities.

The main opportunity for a new owner is to build on the existing technology and operating model through more systematic marketing, improved local user density, and repeat participation. Financial performance and customer acquisition economics have yet to be validated at scale.

Return on investment

The payback period has not yet been established, as the business is at an early stage with approximately A$100 in monthly revenue.

A buyer can build on an existing platform, automated matching system, and operating model already deployed across six cities in Italy and Australia, avoiding the time and cost of developing a similar product from scratch.

The main opportunity is to increase paying users through targeted local marketing, establish sufficient user density in each city, and improve repeat participation. Expansion can then follow a repeatable city-by-city model.

Payback will depend on the acquisition price, customer acquisition costs, conversion rates, repeat purchases, and operating expenses. No specific payback period can currently be guaranteed.

Startup assets

The acquisition includes the brand, existing software products, and the technology infrastructure used to operate the social dining and matching platform.

Trademark: the brand trademark.

Business name: the business name and associated brand assets.

Mobile applications: Flutter app published on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Web application: Existing web app and associated functionality.

Website: Vite and JavaScript-based website.

Automated matching system: JavaScript-based matching and event invitation logic designed to automate the social dining process.

Backend infrastructure: Firebase and Supabase configurations and associated application integrations.

Source code: GitHub repositories containing the relevant application code.

Existing user base: Approximately 800 users across six cities in Italy and Australia.

Instagram accounts: two estabilished Instagram profiles covering Italy and Australia, with approximately 6,000 followers combined. These provide an existing social media presence and a starting point for future marketing and customer acquisition.

The platform provides a foundation for a buyer to continue operating the existing product, improve customer acquisition, and expand into additional cities.

The sale would be subject to an agreed asset-transfer arrangement, including confirmation of intellectual property ownership, trademark transferability, app-store account arrangements, and the transfer or migration of relevant infrastructure and user data where legally permitted.

Risks

Growth opportunities: The platform has an established presence in Italy and Australia, with opportunities to expand into additional cities through targeted marketing.

Market expansion: The matching model works best with a sufficient local user base. A gradual, city-by-city expansion strategy can support sustainable growth.

Marketing optimization: Existing organic marketing channels and social media audiences provide a foundation for further customer acquisition and testing new growth strategies.

Technology and scalability: The platform is built using established technologies, including Flutter, Firebase, Supabase, Vite, and JavaScript, providing a foundation for ongoing development.

Operational continuity: Existing automated matching and invitation processes help streamline operations and provide a starting point for further automation.

Transition and onboarding: A structured handover of the source code, infrastructure, documentation, and operating processes can help the new owner take over smoothly.

Summary

It is an established social dining and matching platform connecting people through real-life dining experiences.
