Overview

My product is an Android app that gives people a temporary email inbox and a second phone number for receiving SMS verification codes, so they can sign up for services without exposing their real email or phone. I built it in 2026 as part of my small app portfolio; it launched on Google Play in May 2026 and earns revenue from paying users.

Revenue at a glance (Google Play gross, what buyers paid): May $11 → June $64 → July $181 → August $355 → September $503 → October $434 through Oct 27 (on pace for ~$500). That is about 8x from June to September with $0 paid ads, and October is holding at September's level. Last 30 days: $472 (~$5.7k annual run-rate). Note: the $1,478 shown under Main Metrics is total revenue since launch, not monthly revenue.

Upside for a new owner: the app still doesn't rank in Play's top results for "second phone number" / "temp number", has no localization push yet, and paid ads are untested. These are the levers to push it toward $1k/month.

Key highlights:

Gross sales (what buyers paid, Google Play sales reports): May $11 → June $64 → July $181 → August $355 → September $503

Net payout from Google Play, after Google's fee, taxes and refunds (official Earnings report): September $359; May–September total $785

Customer acquisition cost: $0 — no paid ads since mid-June, installs are organic

Hosting and database: $0 (free tiers)

Revenue model: one-time Lifetime unlock, monthly subscription, and coin packs

Team

Solo founder (me): product, Flutter app, backend and store listing. The backend handles orders, code delivery and refunds automatically.

Tech Stack

Flutter (Android app)

Node.js backend on Vercel

Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Messaging)

Google Play Billing

four SMS suppliers behind one routing layer, with automatic refunds when a code never arrives.

Marketing and growth

Growth so far is organic Google Play traffic. A small Google Ads test ran in late May–mid June ($24 total) and was stopped. The app is still outside Play's top results for its main US keywords ("second phone number", "temp mail", "temp number"), has no public rating yet, and has no localization push — the category leaders have 5–10M+ installs, so these levers are still untouched.

Revenue and profit

Gross sales: May $11, June $64, July $181, August $355, September $503 (Google Play sales reports)

Net payout (official Earnings): May $8, June $46, July $122, August $249, September $359

Running costs: hosting $0, database $0, ads $0 since June; SMS supplier costs are covered by coin purchases and documented with top-up history for serious buyers.

Return on investment

At September's net payout of $359/month, the asking price pays back in about 33 months at the current level, faster if the buyer works the search, ratings and localization levers listed above.

Startup assets

The Google Play app with its listing, users and in-app products (transferred through Play Console)

Full source code: Flutter app and Node.js backend

Backend moved to the buyer's own server and Firebase project, with the buyer's own SMS supplier accounts

Handover notes and 30 days of support

Risks

Short history: about five months on Google Play

No public rating yet

Depends on third-party SMS suppliers (mitigated: four suppliers behind one routing layer)

Temporary-number apps are a policy-sensitive category on Google Play.

Summary

A small, separable Android business with real paying users, organic growth from $11 to $503/month in four months, near-zero running costs, and clear growth levers that have not been used yet. Sales and earnings exports, GA4 funnel and Play statistics are available to serious buyers after an NDA.

✅ $1,478 TTM revenue

✅ 316 customers

✅ Business model: Freemium

✅ Built with Node.js, Flutter, Firebase

Business Model

Freemium Android app. Paid on Google Play: one-time Lifetime unlock, a monthly subscription, and coin packs; coins buy temporary numbers for receiving SMS codes.

Target Audience

People who need a temporary email or a second number to receive verification codes for sign-ups, free trials and marketplaces without exposing their real contacts.

Asking Price Reasoning

Priced on the growth curve, not on revenue since launch: gross sales went from $11 to $503/month in four months with zero ad spend and near-zero running costs, while search ranking, ratings, localization and paid acquisition are still untouched.

Reason for Selling

I run a portfolio of Android apps and I'm focusing on a smaller set. This one is a clean, separable business that deserves an owner who can work its growth levers full-time.

Growth Opportunity

Search ranking (still outside Play's top results for second phone number, temp mail and temp number in the US), ratings (no public rating yet), localization, and paid acquisition.
